Basal Ganglia - Anatomy
In this tutorial, we will draw the neuroanatomy of the basal ganglia. Key structures/terms: external capsule, claustrum, insula, extreme capsule, optic chiasm, nucleus accumbens, optic tract, third ventricle, lateral medullary lamina, medial medullary lamina, (or medial) segment, external (or lateral) segment, lentiform nucleus, basal forebrain, globus pallidus, anterior commissure, ventral pallidum, corpus callosum, frontal horn, atrium, and temporal horn divisions of this ventricular system, caudate, putamen, thalamus, internal capsule, cerebral peduncle.
