Here, we will draw the visual pathways in sagittal view. Key terms/structures: superior visual world (inferior retina), inferior visual world (superior retina), lateral geniculate nucleus, optic chiasm, optic nerve, optic tract, retinotopic map of the lateral geniculate body: central vision and peripheral vision, optic radiations, occipital horn of the lateral ventricle, superior bundle, temporal horn of the lateral ventricle, inferior bundle, Meyer's loop, primary visual cortex, quadrantanopia, retinotopic map of the primary visual cortex: macular vision, peripheral vision, "calcarine cortex" calcarine sulcus, lateral geniculate nucleus: parvocellular, magnocellular, koniocellular components; midget cells, parasol cells.
