Key structures/terms: association fibers, cord fibers, striatal fibers, short association fiber (aka U-fiber or arcuate bundle), neighborhood association fiber, long association fiber, the Muratoff bundle (aka subcallosal fasciculus), the external capsule, commissural fiber bundle, subcortical fiber bundle, anterior commissure, corpus callosum; thalamic bundle (ie, the corticopetal pathway); the pontine bundle (ie, the corticofugal (corticonuclear and corticospinal), fronto-, parieto-, temporo-, and occipitopontine fibers); centrum semiovale, corona radiata.
